33 driver arressted over the weekend

 The Western Cape Traffic Officials carried out 24 road blocks over the weekend. 2604 vehicles were stopped and 1402 drivers for alcohol and 30 drivers were arrested.

 Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said the highest reading was 1.41 mg  and that was on the N1 near Caledon.

They also arrested two taxi drivers for permit issues; one is Oudtshoorn and one in Somerset West and two drunk pedestrians were arrested in Vredendale.

The amount of fines issued was R1 ,66118.00 and they also screened 33 thousand and 73 motor vehicles for speed and they prosecuted 3138 drivers for  exceeding the speed limit.
