Train caught alight at Woodstock station

Fire and Rescue Services today responded to a train that caught alight at Woodstock station. 

Western Cape Fire and Rescue spokesperson Theo Layne said four carriages caught alight.

Layne said 6 fire engines and 26 fire-fighters were dispatched to the scene.   

No one was injured. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this stage. 

Metrorail said trains on the northern are delayed by between 10 to 15 minutes due to the fire.
