Farmers across the Western Cape remain on edge as fires continue to ravage high lying farming areas in the province.
Temperatures in many parts are set to soar above 40 degrees for a second day in a row and extra reinforcements are expected to come today.
Agri Western Cape says the damaged caused by the raging in farming areas around the province is expected to run into the millions.
The organisations head, Carl Opperman says the heat wave currently being experienced in part of the province is making things worse for farmers who are in the middle of harvesting season.
He says two of the worst effected farms are Vergelegen and Lourens Forest while three of four farms along the West Coast have completely burnt down in Citrusdal, Piketberg and Moutons Hoek. To make matters worse many power lines have been destroyed and cold storage and packing sheds are also now in trouble.
