Despite yesterdays Terror attack on Sri Lanka’s cricket team, Cricket’s governing body says that the game will not be beaten by terrorists and that the sport must go on.

Eight people, including six police officers, were killed when a group of masked men armed with rifles, rocket launchers and grenades launched the attack about 500 metres from the stadium. Six cricketers were wounded in the explosion.

It has been 24 hours since the attack and no one has taken responsibility for the ambush in Lahore. The cricket world reacted with shock and anger to the attacks and warned of terrible consequences for the game in Pakistan.

Following the attack, the New Zealand cricket team has cancelled its tour of Pakistan set for later this year.
