Raymond Koegelenberg of Parow will on Monday start his 400 hours of community service after admitting to setting his pit-bull dog alight.
“We are very pleased that this case certainly gave hope to animals and hopeful this man will never own animal again and let it suffer the way he did,” says SPCA spokesperson Cher Paznanovich.
Paznanovich added that they are very happy that Koegelenberg is going to do community service.
“He's been fined two months or twelve months imprisonment, (of which) R1000 (and) six months is suspended on condition he completes his service of 400 hours,” says Paznanovich.
