With strong crosswinds in this part of the
province, four trucks over turned on the Hugonut tunnel.
Two lanes were blocked for traffic, and one
lane was working causing delays and heavy congestion.
Light vehicles are allowed to use the
lane, while heavier vehicles are urged to use an alternative route to access
the city.
Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa
said that the wind is still very strong, and the trucks are still lying there
on the bridge obstructing traffic.
“Until such time that the situation is back
to normal, we will keep the toll road closed” he added.
