The Young Communist League of South Africa has thrown its support to the ten percent wage hike demand by public service unions.

The public sector negotiations resumed today after it was put on hold following the death of Public Service and Administration Minister Collins Chabane.

YCLSA National Spokesperson Khaya Xaba said they have confidence that the Congress of South African Trade Union will continue to fight for workers and their demands.

“We are calling on our government to meet these unions half way and give workers what is due to them. These workers are the hardest working people so they due to what they are asking for, we feel that the 10% is justifiable considering the basic commodities price’s going up.” Xaba added.

He also said that government must come to the table and negotiate in earnest.
