The federation of South African Trade Unions, together with its affiliates have decided to support the proposal that was made by the South African National AIDS council.
FEDUSA’S general secretary, Dennis George said that at a15 minute workshop that took place at noon today, workers had an opportunity to reflect on the affects the deadly disease has caused our country. “The aim of the workshop was also to reflect ways how we, as a people can come together and rally together, to find effective strategies and ways to address this particular pandemic that is facing our nation,” said George.
George said that workers were encouraged to think about ways to empower women, seeing as women were more readily affected and infected by the pandemic. FEDUSA believes that by empowering women, much can be done to address this curse.
