Cape fires die down for a while

The week long Somerset West that threatened two wines estates has been put out.

But with high temperatures and strong winds expected in the Cape today, fire-fighters will today be on high alert in cases fires start up again. City Fire Chief Ian Schnetler, the fire department is monitoring potential threat spots

Meanwhile thousands of fire- fighters in the Australian state of Victoria are preparing for a fresh outbreak of bushfires.

More than six hundreds schools have been closed, over fears that four main fires could spread. Over two hundred people have been killed by severe bushfires in the same state last month.
