The Automobile Association has said their industry will suffer due to the latest increase in the petrol price and will make it even harder for the car industry to survive.
The price of fuel will go up by 45 cents a litre at midnight.
The car manufacturing industry has suffered terribly under the wrath of the global financial crisis. Many have lost their jobs in the industry.
The Automobile Association’s Gary Ronald said the fuel hike would increase the cost of motoring and petrol-powered transport.
He said the prognosis for the next two months will not be good and unless there is a cut in the interest rate, the industry feels that the hike will not help in any way to boost the sale of used or new vehicles.

The car industry is going down the drain. And raising the fuel prices won't help it at all. So many car manufacturers are going out of business now. I think governments should help them somehow, either by lowering taxes or bringing more government contract in. The prices of cars dropped drastically but the car sales are still going down, lets hope the car industry will get out of this one with few loses, even though that would be a miracle from my point of view.
Take care, Elli
