The swift action of two members attached to the Western Cape Flying Squad resulted in the arrest of two men aged 34 and 49 respectively on charges of attempted murder earlier today.
Early this morning violence associated with taxis erupted at the Samora Machell taxi rank.
Police patrols in the area ensured that the rank is now regarded as safe for the commuting community.
Superintendent Andre Traut said the taxi violence erupted between the two groups which resulted in two men being shot and injured.
The injured were admitted to a local hospital.
“Police responded very quickly and restored tranquillity in the area and also arrested the two men.”
The two suspects will make a court appearance once they are charged.
