Early this morning, a search operation was conducted by Cape Town Police at Senator Park in Keerom Street, a known address for illegal activities and drug related crimes.
“During the operation, five apartments and 148 individuals were searched which resulted in the arrest of 9 suspects on various charges ranging from possession of drugs to kidnapping,” said SAPS spokesperson Carin Loock.
One unit of tik, one gram of tik, one parcel of dagga, 23 dagga cigarettes, six units of crack, 16 tik lollies, 90 syringes and 86 needles were confiscated.
Inspector Loock added: “Cape Town Police will not allow criminals to harbour their drug dens in the City, and they can expect many more similar operations, until we are satisfied with the situation.”
The suspects are all due to make a court appearance in Cape Town on Monday.
