12 year old girl from Belhar was forced and assaulted into a Liquor Store by two unknown males on her way to the shop at the weekend.
The incident occurred at the corners of Chestnut and Gougsblom Street in Belhar.
The suspects were robbing the store and the third suspect is believed to be already inside the shop pretended to be a customer.
Police Spokesperson Captain Frederic Van Wyk says two of the three suspects produced firearms and held it against the girl’s head and demanded cash, while holding staff hostage.
“The three perpetrators took R5 300, 00 from the cash register and fled the scene in a Blue/Silver Uno with no registration plates,” added Captain Van Wyk.
No shots were fired and the 12 year old girl sustained minor injuries and was reunited with her family.
The suspects in their early twenties are still at large.
