Five suspects from Khayelithsa, Phillippi East and Milnerton were arrested before they could execute their attack in Milnerton.
The police responded to a tip- off they received from the community about an armed robbery.
Police spokesperson, November Filander says the suspects were arrested with three 9mm firearms and 32 rounds of ammunition.
“During the incident no was injured or shots were fired,” confirmed Inspector Filander.
The suspects aged between 25 and 27 will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate court tomorrow facing the charges of illegal firearm and ammunition possession.
