Two men aged 18 and 34 respectively were arrested yesterday afternoon after stealing 25 sheep in Du Noon, Cape Town.
This follows after police received a complaint from a farm in the Durbanville area about the incident.
Police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk says police responded to a complaint from a farm in the Durbanville area.
“Members of the Cape Town Dog Unit responded to a stock theft complaint at a farm in Durbanville,” said van Wyk.
Van Wyk says when it became impossible to utilize the dogs in tracing the sheep, police members themselves followed the track from the Durbanville farm to site 5 in Du Noon.
“After identifying the stolen sheep, they were handed back to the rightful owner,” added van Wyk.
He concluded that police registered a case of stock theft and the suspects are due to appear in the Cape Town magistrate’s court, soon.
