Heads of State and Government from the Southern Africa Development Community have begun arriving in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The 26th Ordinary SADC Summit opened yesterday, with the President of the DRC opening the summit.
President Jacob Zuma arrived in Kinshasa accompanied by the International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana Mashabane who participated in the Council of ministers.
President Zuma addressed the summit on how the SADC plans to work together with the northern African countries.
Zuma will hand over the power to the President Joseph Kabila of the DRC to chair the summit.
He will deliver his statement as outgoing chairperson summarizing the progress made on the SADC agenda under South Africa's chairpersonship.
The political situation in Zimbabwe and Madagascar are also expected to feature highly on the agenda.
