Community Information Network

The Western Cape Cerebral Palsy Association needs English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, fiction, non-fiction, children’s and coffe books for their book sale from Thursday August 26 to Sunday August 29 at Cavendish Square, Claremont. Call Olivia or Joy at 021 685 4150 between 8.30am and 4pm, to arrange for collection.

The deadline for the annual Grand West Blisters for Bread Walk, in aid of the Peninsula Schools Feeding Scheme (PSFA), is Thursday August 15. The event will take place at the Green Point Cricket Club on Sunday August 29. The entry fee of R30 is for the 5km, 10km or 20km walk. The Afrikaans Language Museum and Monument in Paarl has launched a survey to find out how many other language monuments exist in South Africa. Anyone with information about other language monuments in the country can contact Annemarie can Zyl at 021 872 3441 or send an email to navorsing@taalmuseum.co.za.

The Girl Guides Association of South Africa is looking for young women between 14 and 24 to join their group. They meet every second week and enjoy the outdoors and getting involved in the community. For details, call Geraldine on 082 412 1332.
