Free State police have denied reports that they are intimidating two witnesses in the Andries Tatane murder trial.
The two men, who were with Tatane when he was allegedly beaten by police during a service delivery protest in April, were arrested by plain clothes police members late last night.
Molefi Nonyane faces a charge of fraud and Tseliso Mpekoa faces a charge of defeating the ends of justice for allegedly trying to prevent police from arresting Nonyane. They have been released and ordered to appear in court next month.
