Hours after President Jacob Zuma left Tripoli yesterday morning, Nato resumed its pounding of the city.

Libyan government sources say warplanes targeted military and civilian sites in Tripoli and Tajura, causing deaths and damage.

Nato said it struck four military sites.

Zuma says Nato’s raids are undermining African mediation efforts.

International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane called for an immediate ceasefire after Zuma said Muammar Gaddafi was ready to implement an African Union peace plan already rejected by Nato and the rebels.
