While Cabinet’s announcement of the toll tariffs for Gauteng freeway improvement project caused widespread outrage, the ANC has welcomed what it describes as “government’s bold move”.
The party commends the government for exempting taxi and buses from the toll fees and for introducing reduced fees for motorists, motorcyclists and truck drivers.
According to the ANC, this happened because the Department of Transport had listened to the views and concerns of the public.
