Stats SA report has revealed that the percentage of South African children in school dropped for a third straight year in 2010.

According to the report, the economic crisis is making school fees an unaffordable luxury for some families.

Some 14-million children and young adults attended school or university last year.

This is just under 73-percent of South Africans aged seven to 24 In 2007, before the onset of the global economic crisis, just over 75-percent of that age group was enrolled in an educational institution.
