Numsa supports cleaning sector strike

Luanda Bill
10 August 2011

The National Union of Metalworkers says it fully backs the ongoing strike action by cleaning workers for a living wage.

According to Numsa, the arrogance displayed by the cleaning industry is suggestive of their intentions to maintain and reproduce the old apartheid income inequalities.

The union calls on cleaning company bosses to grant to the legitimate and genuine demands of workers.

Cleaning workers are demanding an eight percent wage increase.
