City Press editor Ferial Haffajee is planning to sue Sowetan columnist Eric Miyeni after he called her "an agent for white capitalists".

In a scathing column titled "Haffajee does it for white masters", Miyeni says that in the 80s, she probably would have had a burning tyre around her neck.

He also calls her; “a black snake in the grass, deployed by white capital to sow discord among blacks”.

City Press has published a number of stories questioning Julius Malema's lifestyle and finances.

The ANC Youth League has responded by saying it agrees with Miyani’s sentiments about Haffajee.

It also condemns Miyani’s reported sacking as a result of the column.
