South Africans should brace themselves for a 70% increase in airport passenger taxes as of next month.
Airports Company South Africa’ Solomon Mogale says the increase will have an impact on customers, but says they were unavoidable but necessary for the industry.
Mogale says the revised tax must be reflected on the passenger ticket and must be raised with immediate effect on all tickets issued for travel on or after the 1st of October.
He says the increases will be reflected on the customer’s tickets.
