Six people have been arrested after a 44 year-old man was shot and killed in front of a house in Royal Gold Street, Bridgeton in Oudsthoorn.
Police spokesperson Captain Bernadine Steyn says last night the victim was inside a friend’s house when several men entered and allegedly assaulted the victim after which they took him outside.
“One of the suspects took out a firearm and shot the victim in his back he passed away at a nearby house.
“The suspects fled the scene in two Volkswagen vehicles. Vigilant police work resulted in the arrest of five suspects late last night at several houses in Bridgeton,” said Steyn.
The sixth suspect was arrested and they are expected to appear in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates’ Court soon on a charge of murder.
