Premier Modise set to meet with Eskom

North West Premier Thandi Modise is set to meet with Eskom in Mahikeng today to discuss the quality of electricity, network expansion and the roll out of the electrification projects.

Spokesperson Lesbia Kgwele explains that electrification is part of the strategic infrastructure programme and one of the deliverables that Premier Modise wishes to see accelerated and the service delivery to unlock economic development in the programme.

Kgwele added that she hopes that the engagement with Eskom will improve the uptake of the solar water heater programme which has to date delivered only 7 216 installations in the province.

“Premier Modise will later in the day meet with Harmony gold mining to discuss among other things its social contributions and its options of strategic water resource management,” said Kgwele.
