NW Premier said 606 unemployed graduates have been appointed internship programmes

North West Premier Thandi Modise on Thursday reported in the 2013/2014 Departmental Policy and Budget Vote Speech for office of the Premier in Parliament, that 606 unemployed graduates have been appointed by provincial government departments in internship programmes. 

This is to ensure they gain much needed workplace experiential learning. 

Premier Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele 170 bursaries will be given to needy and deserving students to address the provincial priority skills needs.

“For the current financial year R11.9 million has been budgeted for the provincial bursary scheme.

“Universities have confirmed that 35 bursary holders nave recently completed their degrees” Kgwele added.
