A body of a 55-year-old hiker found

Western Cape Emergency Services Authorities on Sunday found the body of a 55-year-old hiker in the Hottentots Holland Mountains. 

The hiker was reported missing on Friday evening but went missing on Wednesday and was found two days after her disappearance. 

EMS Spokesperson Robert Daniels said the hiker left the Danie Miller hiking trail he was following and suffered a severe fall breaking several bones and sustaining head injuries which caused his death.

Daniels said hikers are requested to please remain on the designated hiking trails at all times.
