EC man arrested for stabbing his wife to death

Eastern Cape police have confirmed that a man has been arrested for in Grahamstown for allegedly killing his wife.

It is alleged that the man wanted a box of matches from his wife and when she refused, she was stabbed several times and died on the scene.

Eastern Cape Police Spokesperson Mali Govender said the incident happened on Sunday evening and the suspect was arrested this morning.

Govender said the children between the ages of 2 and 13 years-old have been taken in by a family relative and they are undergoing counselling.

She added that the 38 year-old suspect will appear at the Grahamstwon Magistrate soon.
