The DA and ANC discuss cooperation in several municipalities
The Democratic Alliance will rather team up with the African National Congress in Beaufort West than form a coalition with the newly formed Independent Civics Organisation of SA, represented by the controversial Truman Prince. Both the ANC and the ICOSA have won five seats in the Karoo town’s council, while the DA won two, and the Independent Democrats one. DA provincial leader Theuns Botha says it is likely that his party will form a strong working partnership with the ANC, instead of a formal coalition. Botha and ANC provincial secretary Mcebisi Skwatsha will meet on Monday to discuss plans for co-operation in several municipalities.
