The engineering team working on widening the N2 near the airport says they have seen an increase in police patrols.
This was after a report on the engineering offices being flooded with vandalism since the contract began in the beginning of this year.
Employees of Martin & East told the Cape Times how they were targets for thieves who use the Borcherds Quarry footbridge to escape into Nyanga.
The company was robbed of equipment worth R300 000. Justin Spreckley, who manages the contract, reveals that police patrols have been increased and they have taken note of it.
He says they spotted two cops on quad bikes as well as a pedestrian cop on the Borcherds Quarry footbridge.
Police have confirmed that no incidents have been reported relating to the the N2 over the weekend.
