Police raided two car sales businesses in Lansdowne and Ottery and seized 11 vehicles, most of them VW Golfs and believed to have been stolen by a vehicle-theft syndicate.
According to the Cape Times , police seized another 10 vehicles, including six VW Golfs. The vehicles' engine and chassis numbers had been filed off, VW Golfs have reportedly been used in a number of hijackings and driveway robberies recently.
