Yesterday afternoon two males were arrested for allegedly robbing a house in Tambo Square.
Apparently a girl knocked at the house on December 26 and pretended to be enquiring about something. While the owner was paying attention to the girl, two men suddenly emerged and pointed a fire arm at, said spokesperson for the SAPS Captain Elliot Sinyangana.
“Then one instructed him to open the door and he complied. They closed his mouth with a cloth, tied his arms with and legs with some wire that was found inside the house. They demanded money and they robbed him of cash amounting to R22 000 and also stole a 74 cm Sansui and a DVD machine to the value of R5422,” said Sinyangana
The items were later found at a Delft address and apparently both items were sold to the owners of the home for only R600, according to Sinyangana.
The two men will appear on in the Athlone Magistrates Court on Friday January 9.
