The annual Cape Town Jazzathon will be staged from today until Sunday 11 January at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.

This event is sponsored by the Western Cape Provincial Government.

Western Cape Premier Lynn Brown has announced her support for this project. She says many musicians have used the Jazzathon as an opportunity to cut their teeth in the music business.

It has an intrinsic value that cannot be put to paper.

Brown said that as a premier “I would every event to be open to everyone who can get themselves at the Waterfront”

Perfomances include; Women Unite, Cape Town Jazz Ochestra, Ivan Mazuze, Tucan Tucan and many more.

She said she wants every one to enjoy themselves within the provinces with quality music that can bring their families together.

“So that is why we support the V &A Waterfront annual Jazzathon” said the premier.
