The Drakenstein fire department says a mountain fire raging in the Paarl area has flared up again.
Fire-fighters managed to prevent any further loss of property after the fire destroyed in excess of 5-thousand hectares of fynbos plantation and vineyards.
The fire started on Wednesday and flared up again this morning near the Paarl Taal Monument.
A Working on Fire helicopter water-bombed the area and the fire has been brought under control.
Meanwhile the Overberg Fire and Disaster Management say the fire in Grabouw has been brought under control but Working on Fires is continuing to monitor the area.
