The Cape High Court has found former Navy seaman Tsediso Letsoenya guilty on 70 charges, including 28 of rape and almost 30 of indecent assault.
He terrorised communities across the Cape Peninsula with his violent attacks in 2004.
Letsoenya often forced men at gunpoint to rape women before then raping them himself.
He stood trial on 104 charges but Judge Abe Motala found that there had been discrepancies in some of the victims’ testimonies. Letsoenya pleaded not guilty on all charges.
Sentencing procedures will start tomorrow.
