Police in Manenberg has arrested a suspect they believe is involved in several theft cases.
The suspect was apprehended on Friday evening when police received a phone call, regarding a suspicious vehicle in Lethaba Road.
Members began searching the vehicle and the suspect, who is from the Kuilsriver area. Superintendent Andre Traut said when police searched the vehicle they found stolen cell phones, identity documents, credit cards and stolen cell phone batteries.
“We regard the arrest of this man a success because he was wanted for several weeks.”
“We regard the arrest as indicative of community relations that we got with the community where they report suspicious people to us.” Traut added.
