More than 100 people were left homeless and 1 person dead as fire fighters fought three separate shack fires in Du Noon over the weekend.
A team of fire fighters worked throughout last night trying to extinguish fires in Somerset West.
Greg Pillay, the head of the City’s disaster risk management centre said 24 shelters were gutted about 100 residents left homeless.
