Two people were injuries when their Opel Kadett was 'T-boned' on the drivers side by another vehicle in the early hours of this morning.
ER24 spokesperson Tristan Wadeley says on arrival of emergency services, both husband and wife believed to be in their thirties, were trapped in their vehicle and needed to be cut out by Metro Rescue using hydraulic rescue equipment.
“The lady was in a stable condition and sustained moderate injuries, the gentleman sustained poly trauma and was in a serious condition.”
The patients were taken by ER24 and Metro EMS ambulances to Tygerberg Hospital.
It is believed that the couple was turning right off La Belle Road into Strand Street when the accident occurred. The other vehicle involved was unknown as it had allegedly fled the scene.
SAPS and a Metro Doctor were also in attendance
