First sitting gets different reactions

After the first sitting of the fourth democratic parliament it emerges that ANC President Jacob Zuma will be occupying the highest office in South Africa for the next five years.

ANC parliamemtary members rejoiced as their leader won the National Assembly election by 277 votes.

The Congress of the People’s nomination Mvume Dandlala only got 47 votes, with the Democratic Alliance abstaining from the voting process.

Called by newly elected speaker Max Sisulu, opposition parties each got their opportunity to congratulate Zuma and pledge their support to strethening the democracy of South Africa.

Bush Radio reporter’s Mishkah Anthony and Sasha Forbes were both at the first sitting and spoke to some new members to find out about how they felt about their new positions and also how they felt about the election of the new President Elect.

Max Sisulu, newly elected speaker said that he was delighted that the members of parliament had chosen him to be the speaker of the fourth democratic parliament and that he believes that this is a large responsibility.

The Congress of the People’s Mvume Dandlala said that he thought that COPE had done very and that they were faithful to the positions that they had announced to the nation.

As a new member of parliament Ebrahim Rasool said that he looked forward to calmer times as he was always involved in Provisional politics.

Tokyo Sexwale also a new member of parliament said that being sworn in at national parliament was different because you can feel a heavy sense of responsibility.

With mixed reactions many Dignitaries walked out of the National Assembly filled with enthusiasm to continue to strengthen our country.
