Nine involved in an accident

Nine vehicles, including a truck, were involved in an accident on the Mike Pienaar off ramp on the N1 direction Paarl yesterday.

Emergency Rescue24’s Tristan Wadeley says on arrival paramedic’s found one patient in a car that was lodged under the truck.

Luckily the truck had not gone right over the vehicle and only the back of the car was under the truck.

The female patient sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Louis Leipoldt Medi-Clinic.

A second person, with minor injuries, was also transported to hospital for a check-up.

“A bystander alleged that that the truck could not stop in time and rode into the back of truck, police were on the scene and were investigating the accident.”

Metro EMS, fire department, traffic officials and Baycare were also in attendance. The off ramp was closed to traffic during the incident, said Wadeley.
