Robben Island is hosting one of the most special celebrations of Nelson Rholihlahla Mandela’s 91st birthday today.
This is just a day before the freedom fighter, former president and iconic world leader’s big day.
The celebrations are hosted by Robin Island Museam and Cape Town Routes Unlimited.
Guest of hounor will include Fifteen Aids orphans from Nazareth House and 10 previously disadvantages youths from the Western Cape’s Access the Cape programme.
A tree planting ceremony will also takes place on the island where Madiba spent 27 years.
