Traffic in and around the city is backed up.
This follows after a building was set alight in Strand Street, Cape Town, forcing Corners of Loop and Strand Street to be closed as fire and rescue operators are still busy on scene.
Metro police also report that the N1/Koeberg Interchange will still be closed for about two hours due to the load that needs to be lifted.
Traffic going out of the City will be diverted onto the slipway and at the intersection to turn right to get onto the link for the N1 outgoing.
Traffic coming from Muizenberg towards Milnerton will be diverted onto the N1 towards Town and has to turn around in Town to go back to Brooklyn.
Earlier on the N1 incoming under the N7 bridge a truck broken down in the left lane, Provincial Traffic on scene.
Traffic officials have urged motorists to be patient as the jams are expected to last for few hours only.
