Municipal workers will return to work tomorrow, after unions and the South African Local Government Association (Salga) reached an agreement late on Friday afternoon.
Last week, municipal services were severely affected as thousands of municipal workers around the country downed tools demanding better wages.
A deal was struck between the Samwu, the Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union (Imatu) and Salga on Friday afternoon.
The unions say the 13 percent wage increment in the minimum wage will raise the wage from R3352 to R3850 as of July this year.
It is also reported that the agreement will further make provision for those vacant posts to be filled by June next year.
