Community alerted the police after they found a body of a newborn baby girl in Khayelitsha yesterday.
The body was found underneath roof zinc in an open field in the corner of Nobiya and Hlobo Street in Ilitha Park, Khayelitsha.
“It is alleged that her left arm was eaten by the dogs and a case of concealment of birth has been opened, said Inspector Siphokazi Mawisa.
Anyone who can assist the police to find the mother of the child can contact Detective Sergeant Abrahams Tobias of Lingelethu West police station on 021 360 2272.
