A second death suspected to be related to swine flu has been reported in the province.
The death is of Johann Hack who died at the Vergelene Medi-Clinic on Tuesday evening in Somerset West.
Local reports say Hack collapsed at his home and paramedics tried to resuscitate him but later died at the hospital.
The hospital sent samples to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases to test for the swine flu virus, as the test is required by the department.
However by Friday morning the Western Cape health department said it had not received any confirmation from the institute.
Meanwhile amid the spread of the virus, some local schools around the city had suspended some of its activities as a preventative measure against swine flu.
