34 year old man from Constantia is under police guard in hospital after being charged with the murder of a police officer.
Constable Percy Musiu and other two police members were responding to the reported housebreaking incident in Constantia on Saturday.
Unfortunately for him, Musiu was shot and killed at the house while they were still looking for the alleged perpetrator.
During the incident another police member fired several shots responding to the incident and the house owner was wounded to his both legs and stomach.
Police spokesperson, Inspector November Filander says the motive of the attack is still unclear, as they could not found any traces of housebreaking or stolen items in the house.
Inspector Filander added that should the suspect’s condition get better he will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate court on Monday.
