Koeberg Nature Hike

The Lion Hiking Club invites you to an easy hike in the Koeberg Nature Reserve with its zebras on Saturday. Wearing of boots is recommended. Entrance will be granted to those with ID’s or Passports. Donations are R10. Call Ron on 021 552 3637

Homemakers Expo

The Cape Homemakers Expo from Thursday t Sunday will be at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. All funds raised will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. Adults will have to pay R50, pensioners R30, and under 12s are free.

Seaside Blues

Ivan Zimmerman will perform at Seaside Blues in Melkbosstrand tomorrow night at 8:30 pm. Tickets are R70 to book call 021 553 2615

Job opportunities

Residents in the Gugulethu and surrounding areas are invited to apply for jobs at the Gugulethu Square. Applicants can go to http://www.gugulethusquare.co.za/ and click on jobs@Gugs. They will be requested to log their information (personal experience, qualifications as well as skills) and select the job for which they are applying. Each job post will have specific employment requirements pre-programmed such as skill and experience. If an underqualified person applies for that position, then it will reject them immediately and give them an opportunity to try for another position. The candidates that meet the basic requirements will be saved in that position folder for consideration by the retail tenants.

The Disabled Children’s Action Group is participating in a Casual Day Event. They will be selling Casual Day Stickers for the event in aid of raising funds for persons with disabilities. Stickers cost R10.00 per person. The Casual Day will be hosted on the 4th of September 2009. For more details on casual day you can contact Sandra on 021 797 5977

Two people have been arrested related to gunfire at a church in Khayelitsha

Over the weekend, police were performing stop-and-search operations in Harare when they heard gunshots and followed the sound to a church. ...
