Yet another dagga lab has been discovered in the city, this time in Observatory.
This is after the Metro Police special unit, the “Drug Busters” executed a search warrant at a house in James street.
Metro Police Deputy Chief Yolando Faro says the confiscated items includes dagga seeds, are estimated to more than R20 000.
“During the search, the officers found equipment and material used in the large scale processing of dagga. Literature on how to cultivate cannabis was also found and confiscated,” she said.
No arrests were made, as the person responsible for the equipment was not present during the search.
Faro adds that the continuing success of this unit is testimony to its commitment to countering those whose illegal trade in narcotics has such devastating consequences at all levels of society in the Western Cape.
This is the third dagga lab discovered in the city in the past two months.
