An operation targeting known drug dens in Athlone netted four arrests by police.
Inspector Ian Bennett says tik, dagga and mandrax was confiscated from the suspects aged between 17 and 34 years old.
“The following arrests were made; a 34 year old man from Silvertown for 18 sticks of dagga; three people from Silvertown aged with 6 packets of tik; a 33 year old man was arrested for one crushed mandrax, as it is alleged that he was selling drugs from a tent in the Athlone area and a 22 year old man was arrested in Kewtown area in possession of two packets of tik,” said Bennett.
The suspects will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
They face various drug charges .
